Play Wall Divider
The play wall divider is a part of my thesis project that was focusing on the potential of three-dimensional typography to enhance spatial experience. Borrowing the technique of digital fabrication as method of construction, the investigation of letters as three dimensional objects went beyond the virtual and translated as physical objects through CAD/CAM technology. The word play was originally rendered in 3D modeling software, Rhinoceros 4.0 before it was sent to be lasercut, polished and assembled into a finished model. Together with material, light, shadows and viewing angles, the power of letters as form that carries meaning can potentially become an essential element to activate the environment.
